Just watched this (on DVD, sadly... I prefer the big screen), and liked it. I generally avoid romantic comedies like the plague, mostly because they deal with trite plots. So, I was unaware that this has a trite plot (according to a few reviews I read by professionals).
However... it's well played by Carell and Binoche. Just the sort of family I'd like to be part of... one that owns a $20 million house on the beach in Rhode Island.
Ok, maybe not so much the money, but more the fact that this family (mostly) gets along, and enjoys each other's company.
