i am interested in movies to stimulate my mind, create interesting conversation, enhance sharing similarities in views, feelings and responses, thus enhance closeness with another. i also like movies for escape, diversion, entertainment, adrenalin rush and suspense. i like movies with action, tension of some kind, drama, intrigue and suspense. murder mysteries, conspiracies, govt or terrorist plots, etc. i also like thought provoking movies with depth and dimension, controversy, subtlety, interpersonal complexity, a degree of angst and sophistication. i like humour but am very discriminating about the type. cannot stand slapstick, silly, shallow or any sitcom type stuff. i loved American Beauty, My Year of Living Dangerously, House of Mirrors with merryl streep and jeremy irons, (and usually like irons movies)...and the metaphor/symbolism of Being There even tho i dont like peter sellers' comedies. i also liked Woman in the Dunes from long ago.
